Her signature backward 3½ somersaults in pike position particularly impressed the judges, earning multiple 9.5s and perfect 10s from the panel.
Teammate Xie Peiling, the 16-year-old rising star making her World Championship debut, secured second place with 368.30 points. Xie showed remarkable composure under pressure, particularly nailing her armstand back double somersault with 1½ twists in the final round.
The Chinese duo’s one-two finish continues their nation’s historical dominance in women’s platform diving. Since 2001, Chinese divers have won 14 of the past 16 world titles in this event, with Chen looking to defend her 2023 championship crown.
